All About Musician Jason Chen
R&B and pop musician Jason Chen lives and works out of Los Angeles, California. He performs live as well as recording original songs and cover versions of popular songs. His motto, Music Never Sleeps, appears on all of his merchandise and web profiles.
When he was born on November 12, 1988, Jason was given two names; his English one and his Chinese name, Yitong Chen. This was because of his Chinese American heritage. He has lived in California for most of his life and went to college at UCLA. He graduated in 2010.
Starting in January of 2011, Jason began releasing original single tracks for sale and download from the Internet. These include the songs Best Friend, Here I Am, When I Get Home, Just for a Moment, and Reintroduction. In December of 2011 he released his first full-length album, Gravity. It included all of the singles except for When I Get Home, as well as both an English and Chinese version of Best Friend.
Making use of downloading technology, the singles were made available to purchase directly from the Internet. Once paid for, they could be downloaded immediately to a computer or music playing device. The full album, however, was released in CD format. If purchased through the Internet, two songs could be downloaded immediately as well.
Jason also has on online retail store where he sells merchandise covered in his motto and song titles. Products include t-shirts, tank tops and wristbands in assorted colors. His album is for sale through the online store and can be purchased as part of a special package that includes wristbands.
Aside from profiles on social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook, Chen has his own channel on video sharing site YouTube. Here he posts music videos for both his original songs as well as cover versions he has done of songs by artists like Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, and Justin Beiber.
